I appears that 10.4.4 has been hacked. Question is does 10.4.5, close the problem.

The Intel version of Mac OS X 10.4.4 was cracked to run on generic PCs, not just Intel Macs.

Among other things, the hack involved replacing the 10.4.4 kernel and Finder. With what, who knows.

OK, installed it and PithHelmet still works. Hasn't broken anything else yet but you do need to update USB Overdrive if you're using it.

What is the relevance of running a repair permission after doing an update?

Thanx

I am making a guess here. I believe that when software is install the first thing is done, is that certian directories/folders permissions are changed in order to make it easier to load the software. Or the permissions of the upgrade or patch is different than the final application release permissions. By replairing file permission you ensure that everything has been stored to the default level. In case something has been changed and not changed back.

Havn't installed it yet but I probably wont until the update manager tells me too because the update is really nothing major. Just some video fix for the intel macs.
