So I'd been using my iPhone 4 happily all this time and when it was time to upgrade, I opted to wait for the iPhone 5S even though the iPhone 5 was available. My wife went that version and I could tell it was way faster than my iPhone 4..

When iOS 7 came out, being one of those people that always wants to upgrade, I foolishly upgraded my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. The iPad 2 manages iOS 7 just as well as it did iOS 6, however the iPhone 4 was a entirely different story.

While my initial reaction was positive, it seemed (if it's even possible) to slow down as time went on to a point where it actually became a chore and annoyance to do anything on the phone..

For example, if I was scrolling through an e-mail in the Gmail app, the action of scrolling would end up highlighting portions of the email and the pop-up (Copy/Paste) would show up. So after dealing with this for a bit and not wanting to wait in any long line for an iPhone 5S I upgraded to the 5S in Champagne on Friday.

I can TOTALLY say that iOS 7 was really designed for the 5S. It is mind-blowing how much faster this phone is compared to the iPhone 4, everything works so smoothly.

I'm still exploring all the new features, but I'm totally enjoying the 5S right now..

I noticed the speed difference between my 5 and friends 5s
The new burst rate on the camera is nice along with slo-mo.

I think these benchmarks speaks volumes for comparison purposes.

Just looking at the Geekbench 3 (single and multi-core) values, my iPhone 4 is at 213 and 210 respectively. The iPhone 5S on the other hand is at 1393 and 2485 respectively. That comes out to 553% and 1183% improvements respectively..

The iPhone 5 is sitting at 723 and 1303 respectively..

So yeah, it's fast..:)

I haven't played with the slow-mo camera stuff yet..gotta try that.

I personally think it's super great, too. I personally think the majority of reviews on the 5S were too critical and had dull impressions of improved features. Compared to my former iPhone 4, the 5S is super fast and responsive. And after a couple weeks, it still amazes me lol :)

I haven't seen any slowdowns in iOS 7 on my iPhone 4, but I have discovered that if the iPhone is mostly full, it starts to act funny. This is akin to OS X as well, so its not that surprising.

I fix iPhones, I kinda started my own side job and I bought a 4 off of eBay to fix and I loved it for the most part but it seemed that the space was taken up very easily although it was only an 8GB and that is what made it slow. I love my 5. My contract is up in a little over a year and I'll be getting whatever is the newest then.

I can honestly say the iPhone 5s is a huge step up from an iPhone 4 in terms of both speed and features. I am loving mine.
