Keyboard shortcut for FINDER

Hi,

What's the keyboard shortcut for finder? I know command N will open Finder when it's in focus but what about when it's not?

option command space


edit:
the above will open Finder to the root of the drive with the search window

holding down 'command shift' then press the 'tab' key - you will be able to use the arrow keys to select any open app and bring focus to a currently open window.
