Hi,

What's the difference between the phone app and the contacts app on the iPhone 5? Is there an advantage to using one over the other?

Thanks.

The Contacts app is what opens when you go to contacts from within the Phone app.

The Phone app would be pretty useless without access to the Contacts app unless you remember all the phone numbers and want to use the keypad to dial everyone.

Contacts = repository of contacts that other applications can use (such as the phone app, the email app, Facebook app and so on)

Phone app = makes and receives phone calls

bobtomay and chas_m: Thank you both for clearing this up for me. It makes perfect sense now.
