Hi. I'm intending upgrading my early 2009 Mac Pro from 10.6.8 to Snow Leopard. I use FCP 6 also with the intention of moving on to FCP X and was wondering if there are any potential problems that I should be aware of
making this move? Any advice or guidance would be very much appreciated.
Best, Alan

The latest version of OS X is Mavericks (10.9) which is what you might mean. The oldest Mac Pro supported is an early 2008 model, so you are all set.

You might want to check with FCP 6s compatibility right now with Mavericks and also check on FCP X.

Apart from these apps, realize that once you move past Snow Leopard (10.6), all PowerPC apps will stop to work, so you might want to look at other apps that you frequently use and make sure they are covered..

Yes, my mistake regarding Snow Leopard, I actually meant to say Mountain Lion, Thanks for your help.

Mountain Lion is no longer available to the best of my knowledge. You missed your chance on that one, I'm afraid. It's either Mavericks or stay where you are.

Mavericks is free while Mountain Lion is gonna cost you $20. So if you can upgrade all the way to Mavericks, then you might want to look into that..
