Syncing music from Mac Book Pro to I-Pad

I would like to transfer music that is currently on my Mac Book Pro to my i-pad. I have a book for the OS X ver. 10.7.5 but could not find anything about syncing music to the i-pad.
Maybe I am using the wrong word to describe what I am trying to do!!!! Please help!

2017 27" iMac, 10.5" iPad Pro, iPhone 8, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini, Numerous iPods, Monterey
Did you try connecting the iPad to your MacBook Pro, opening iTunes and sync your music to the iPad using iTunes? You can sync music to your iPad the same way you would do it with an iPod.
