Deleted items still showing in search results...

Previously deleted files or software still show in search results... more specifically, their respective 'alias' files still show.

The Alias files are shown with a dashed line greyed out square - as the below image - rather than with their original icon:




When I try to delete these Alias files, I get the following window/message:



It seems there is no way to permanently delete these 'ghost' files?

I've sorted it. For anyone else who has this problem and comes across this thread whilst searching for a solution, re-indexing Spotlight's folders and volumes sorts the problem, removing all 'ghost alias' files that were previously linked to files or software that you removed:
