The file EDGARpro.dll.doc cannot be removed by trash and cannot be found by Norton or spotlight. I think it may be spyware. Does anyone have any information?
Thanks

Can you provide us with some more context? Did you create that file? What happens when you try to empty the trash? Have you tried rebooting and then emptying the trash?

I have rebooted both soft and hard. The trash does not empty with the message that the EDGARpro file is still in use. I am running parallels on an IMac and have tried to find the file both on the native IMac as well as on the Parallels windows XP.

The file then is being opened upon login. Remove everything in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items. Reboot and try again.

Open Activity Monitor and stop Parallels, or do a force quit of Parallels and try again to delete that rogue file. Whatever it is, it can't harm OS X. Rather strange extension for a file anyway....

Thanks for your help. The file was associated with the WePrint app which was used as a work around before an AirPrint printer was added to the network. Once WePrint was removed from the Login Startup list, the file became visible in the trash section and could be easily removed. Again, thanks for your interest and ideas.
