retreiving address book contacts

I have formatted my mac book and did a timemachine backup before doing so. How do I retrieve to my cleaned out Mac the contacts that I had saved in Address Book prior to formatting? Thanks

This is the wrong forum for that question but since this is your first post.....

You would need to restore the entire TM backup in order to retrieve your contacts. You can't just only restore the contacts because you formatted the drive. In other words, there is no place to restore them to.
