I'd stay away from buying memory on eBay especially when it's so cheap elsewhere (and new). I don't know where you're located (so I don't know if you can order stuff from here) but OWC and Crucial come highly recommended.

Thanks for your reply and links. I'm located in Norway, so ebay is probably the best option. Memory here in Norway is pretty expensive.

I'm willing to try buying from ebay, so my question is if the one from the ebay link will fit? Obviously I'll buy two.

Just make sure you buy brand-new and as was said, for 4GB you can get it pretty cheap.

By the way, of course someone can confirm this, but I just found out that right now all RAM price is high because everything is made up in Japan and due to some natural catastrophe there some factories had to stop labouring for a while, which is reflecting in the price. So, probably waiting a couple of months for a better deal wouldn't be a bad idea... But, again, for 4GB I'm sure you can get a very decent price, I will wait for RAM to become cheaper but that's because I'm looking for 16GB

If you would rather buy from Hong Kong, so be it. Here in Australia OWC provides outstanding service and their memory has a lifetime warranty and further they are Mac specialists.

Your MacBook Pro will support 1066 MHz PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM.

The eBay listing you linked to is compatible, and comes with a "Lifetime guarantee." "New 2GB PC3-8500 DDR3 1066MHz CL7 204pin SODIMM RAM Laptop Memory" Also, HYNIX is a fairly well-known brand.

So, you should be safe ordering a pair of those. Read up about the MEMTEST utility which you can download and run for a day to test the RAM after installing (memtest).
