Cannot change incoming MacMail sound

I have tried changing Blow to Hero in settings > sounds, and also in Mail preferences with no luck'
I have checked sound are ticked in Notifications.
Any ideas

Are using OS X Mavericks?

If so, there was an update recently for mail version 1.0 containing various bug fixes.

It might help with your issue.

Problem solved after a further reboot it has changed.

I read somewhere that Mavericks apparently caches preferences, so the applications need to be restarted (and sometimes a reboot) to get the new settings to appear. That's likely what happened here.

Perhaps you read this description of cached preferences. The various scripting methods for solving this problem are entrusting but a bit out of my league.

I thought I mentioned this in an earlier video chat but perhaps not.
