Steps will be, if a compatible computer, to Snow Leopard OS X.6, and update that to OS X.6.8, into App Store and download Mavericks f.o.c. Snow Leopard is available from Apple Online for $19.95 including postage.

I'm currently running 10.5.8
Got it in 2009 and haven't had a reason to update operating system until now.
Doesn't have the app store on it. I guess this version was before that became the standard way mac users update their software.
Looks like I just need to buy Snow Leopard and get the free updates from the app store form there.
