I guess we should ask.... what did you rename it to? And what extension is the file using?

As well as what version, what Mac, Mac version OS on Mac, . . . . More information that just "as subject" because bluntly that won't get you very far .. ..

When renaming, you likely changed the file extension. Ensure the filename ends in .pptx or .ppt, including the dot/period. For example "presentation.pptx".
