Hotspot issues

Hi. My iPhone 5 hotspot function has stopped working. It would seem however that my MAcbook Pro 13'' 2011 is the problem as another iPhone works fine and my iPhone works fine when connected to another Macbook Pro. I am using a USB connection. I have tried bluetooth and this does work but seems rather slow. Any ideas?

OK, so i was told by text guy at iStore that I needed to reinstall OS. Took the opportunity to load Mavericks and it has indeed sorted the problem out.
