MacBookPro (old one) running OS X 10.9 - downloaded Maverick and spent all day fixing things but the simplest thing are beyond me - For my Safari home page I use the CNN news home page. Now I have the irritating constantly scrolling Fox News bar and I can't get rid of it. It's right under the Bookmark Bar. Anyone want to help with this simple but beyond me issue? Thx

Is it an actual toolbar or is it part on the web page? i.e. if you go to google.com, does the fox news bar remain?

If I go to " google.com ", it is still there! When I click on Safari in preferences I have CNN news as my home page - as it has been for a couple of years but without the irritating Fox News scrolling bar that appeared yesterday. There's the "Tool bar", under that the "Bookmarks bar", and right under that the Fox New scrolling bar that I want to delete - I just can't figure out how to do it. Thanks

Ok so that's an extension you've installed.
Open safari preferences where you can disable and delete particular extensions
