Error in verbose startup message login disabled IP firewall loaded

After many attemps to start up my old imac it got stuck on gray screen with apple. Tried to start and after re-set still nothing. So started up in verbose mode and gets to same message login disabled. IP packet filtering initialized, divert enabled, rule-based forwarding enabled, default to accept. logging disabled. IPv6 packet filtering initialized, default to accept, logging disabled. IP firewall loaded. It does not continue after here. IT's an old computer I have not used but need to turn it on as it's the only device that connects to my old scanner and also talks to my old printer! This old imac 2002 is not connected to the internet at all by the way.
