Does not work how? Do you get some sort of error message?

Where did the dat file come from? If it's a Windows dat file you may not be able to open it with anything from your Mac. Depends on what kind it is. The first thing I would try is to see if it will open with TextEdit. Certain kinds of dat files are created by Windows Outlook Express and Outlook.

I tries to install the software but nothing works. means it does not even open any window.

Regarding from where the file is coming from. It is the image of a waveform from a digital oscilloscope.

Any help is accepted.

Thanks again

If it is an image, what happens if you change the extension to JPG and press the spacebar.
Does it open ?

I don't recognise it, may be a proprietary format. Does the scope come with software? Or does it give the option of file type to export to? Was that the entire file?

When I run TNEF's enough, all I get is an icon on the dock for the running program. If I remember correctly, you drop the .dat on that icon and it then kicks off the extraction. Did you try that?
