MAvericks upgrade

I am based in UK and have an imac 5,1 (late 2006???) running OSX 10.6.8 - is it worth upgrading to Mavericks and if so, how???

I think i may have to upgrade and pay for 10.7 or later first of all??

Any advice gratefully received

MacMini M-1 MacOS Monterey, iMac 2010 27"Quad I7 , MBPLate2011, iPad Pro10.5", iPhoneSE
A imac 5,1 is late 2006. The Latest OSX that will run is 10.7 Lion which is very hard to get a hold of. Mountain Lion and Mavericks will not install on that Mac. Sorry.
