I am looking to buy a macbook pro from a friend. It is a 2006, hasn't been used much lately and still has 10.4.11 on it. I would like to remove it and install my own 10.6. How can I do this? I don't want to simply upgrade because I would like to remove all of her info and stuff, so I would like to delete the current system and install a fresh one. Is this easy? I do not have the original disks for the machine.

So I don't need to remove the current system? I was afraid that it would simply "update" and not clear out the old system. Thanks :)

Boot the computer with the 10.6 disk you purchase...then wipe the drive...then do the OS 10.6 install. All's good!:)
