Upgrading to the newest version of Pages

Why I bothered installing Mavericks I don't know. No problems with the OS yet. But with the Pages "upgrade" a minor problem. Now, when I put the cursor over the new pages Icon and right click on a file nothing happens. Used to launch every time BEFORE I upgraded. Having said that I like the new format (e.g. formatting menu on the right side).

No idea. For me, all the pictures I cut/pasted from the web disappeared from my pages documents. The documents were tables I created as inventory--a picture of the item in one cel, identifying info with a link to webpage in the cel below. The info’s there; but upon opening, it nicely says “we’re fleeting all your pics”. That’s fun. Real fun.
