However, if you haven't got one, you will need a device to connect your VCR to your Mac and transfer the video.

Have a look at Elgato's Video Capture. It also comes with its own software that will give you Quicktime files of your tapes.

I hurriedly replied earlier from work, my reply wasn't accurate. I checked again and the Mac version is $70US...the software comes with a USB cable to connect your VCR's RCA jacks.

The elgato software looks really good, too.

Both of those should work great. I bet Roxio's software is nicer but have never personally tried that package, but I love Roxio Toast and other Roxio software.

I have a USB to RCA cable and also have Toast. What setting in Toast would I need to use to transfer the video? Thanks!

I think you took my post the wrong way. Was just saying I loved Toast from Roxio. It's not Video Capture software, not that I know. Was just trying to say Roxio makes great products. Sorry! :D
