Every time I open Preview or TextEdit (from scratch, not just from sleep) I get 10 windows of other files I've opened previously. They are minimized, i.e. not visible unless I do the "App Exposé" (4-finger swipe down) but no matter what I do I can't make them go away.
I try to close them by selecting one and then Cmd-W but that doesn't close it, only minimizes it again. Online research taught me that File>open recent>clear menu keeps them from auto-opening every time I open the app.
Apple Support communities has no answer that I can find...anyone here have a cure or explanation?
