At one time I installed Time machine editor. I decided to delete it using App Cleaner. However it is still lurking somewhere in my laptop. It still wants to run during the evening hours. So I tried a re-install and turned it off and deleted it again. But that doesn't seem to do the trick. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Have a look at this thread in the Apple Discussion forum. If I am understanding this discussion correctly you must reset Time Machine to its hourly backup schedule before deleting Time Machine Editor otherwise Time Machine follows the schedule last set in Time Machine Editor.

Try reinstalling Time Machine Editor (the thread suggests even installing the older version works). Once you've done that set the Time Machine schedule to one hour and delete Time Machine Editor as you did before.

Thanks, I will give it a try.
