Downloads into dock

I can't get my downloads folder into my dock. I've been into finder and clicked on documents but it doesn't seem to work. HELP!:(

Open Finder and drag the Downloads folder and drop it onto the right hand side of the Dock.


I've been into finder and clicked on documents but it doesn't seem to work. HELP!:(

If this is another issue, you'll need to tell us more.

As Tom points out, the trick is that FOLDERS go on the RIGHT hand side of the dock.
