iTunes "garbled" playback

this problem just started happpening not too long ago, but my itunes would play whatever song and maybe halfway through or any other random time period starts playing all "staticy" and just sound like garbage. i recently installed the newest version of itunes but this problem also occured when i had the previous version installed too.

is there any remedy to my problem? has anybody experienced this?

no, ironically this is only through my windows machine.

anybody have any ideas to a possible fix?
