When it restarted it from update it opened up a windows showing it searching for my keyboard and telling me to make sure it was discoverable. I looked up how to do that and got the keyboard on with the blinking green light. Still nothing. Restarted, restarted BT, restarted keyboard. Nothing. Read that sometimes AppleTV interrupts the process, so I unplugged it and restarted everything again. Still nothing!! At one point it did day it found the keyboard, but never did anything else after several minutes of saying "connecting". Never got it to see the keyboard again.

Any advice??

Have you tried using a brand new set of batteries to see if that makes it work? Does your Magic Mouse work fine?

I'll have to try new batteries when I get home, but I don't have high hopes. It was working fine right before the restart and I wasn't getting any low battery warnings AFAIK

BTW, this is the update to OS X 10.8.5? I did the update myself a day or so ago and haven't seen any ill effects with the keyboard or mouse. I have a low battery warning on the keyboard that I've had for about a month now..

It's been complaining since it was about 30% or so, it's down to 14% now and I'll stick it out until it starts to disconnect frequently or completely stops working..

I have been using the Apple wired USB keyboard but will take my Bluetooth one to the iMac and give it a try with 10.8.5.Edit: Just tried it and am on it now. Small Apple BT keyboard on iMad with 10.8.5 and it came right up.
