Hi everyone wondering the best fine tip stylus for taking sharp notes and software to use it on? Don't want to switch to note tablet but need strong note abilities. Any help would be great thanks!
Unfortunately, because the iPad is optimized to be manipulated with a finger tip, there are not a whole lot of options out there for tasks that require fine point manipulation (such as taking notes). One solution is the Jot Pro:
One of the (many) challenges in taking notes on an iPad is going to be your palm/wrist, which will want to naturally rest on the screen. So, make sure whichever app you choose has some kind of mitigation for this.
...or, you could just get yourself a BT keyboard and type your notes. Just a thought...
That's exactly what I did. Using a stylus to take notes or do any kind of writing on an iPad takes some practice and patience. My Amazon inexpensive BT keyboard works well especially when I'm on our forums and away from my iMac.
Just a comment - writing out a lot of notes "by hand" on a tablet offers little that pen and paper can't do. You might gain a few bits of functionality that would be cumbersome to do in person (different colours for example) but since you can't search or index those files beyond the names of the files themselves, you're likely not going to gain much. Granted, I have no idea what you plan to write so I could be completely wrong here but writing a lot of notes by hand on a digital device doesn't seem worth it.
That reminds me of my university days before computers (yes, I'm a dinosaur) when all my notes were hand written. I would return from class and then type them out on my typewriter which I kept at home. ;D
