If I purchase a HD movie for my Mac am I limited to watching it on my iPad as a HD movie? The I would prefer using SD on my iPad for memory reasons but I obviously don't want to purchase both versions of the same movie

With your iPad connected open iTunes and select the iPad as the device. If the Summary tab is not already selected then select it. Near the bottom of the screen select the box that says "Prefer standard definition video".

I have not used this option personally but the hints I've read suggest that this works. Be warned that conversion from HD to standard definition can take some time.

When I bought an HD movie from iTunes, an SD version was included in the download as well.
