Hello,
So I do not do a lot of computer games since I usually don't buy gaming computers but what I was wondering is when looking in the app store and I am looking at a game and it say supported graphics and I see the intel HD 4000 is listed does that mean my computer can play that game?

Yes, that's what it means. But you need to know something about how the Intel HD 4000 borrows memory from the main system. If your Mac has 4 GB of memory installed, the HD 4000 will only use 512 MB. But if your Mac has 8 GB of system memory installed, it will use 1024 MB. That should tell you something. ;)

I might be upgrading to 8 GB but the games I am looking at only require 512 MB of Memory so I am currently good.

Go for the additional memory will make your gaming so much more responsive.
