I have a wired Mighty Mouse that came with my iMac. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I was under the impression that I could scroll horizontally with the mouse but have not been able to do so even though vertical and horizontal scrolling is selected in my system preferences. How can I achieve horizontal scrolling capability? (I have tried the "Shift" key and it does not work.)
Also, any recommendations for a replacement mouse (this one has had a lot of wear and tear) that would have better attributes for a graphic designer? From comments that I have read online the new Magic Mouse has issues that are problematic for users of InDesign and Illustrator. Are there apps that can enhance a Mighty Mouse's capabilities?
