Hi folks,

I have recently come up against a problem opening images in Preview on a Macbook Pro I have had for around 12 months. I'm not sure what's wrong and when I view 'get info' cannot see a reason why I cannot open the images.

Every image show me as having read and write permissions. I am therefore confused.

Here's the error message:

"The file xxxxxxxxx could not be opened because you do not have permission to view it.

To view or change permission select item in Finder and choose File > Get Info."

When I do this I cannot see any reason for the problem. The info says I have read and write access and that the image will be opened in Preview'.

Any ideas what could have cuased this to start happening on seemingly every image I now try to open?

Thanks :)

Have you tried Disk Utility to repair permissions recently? Sometimes permissions get messed up and need to be repaired.
