Macbook pro problem

on Disc Utilitys the button for repair disc isnt selectable for some reason

Did you select the hard drive in the list on the left side of Disk Utility.

yes and theres tabs that say raid first aid and what not i goto the bottom and i cant click it repair disc

Give this a quick glance. What you are seeing probably seeing looks a bit lie screenshot 1. You don't want to click on the area that has a name which looks like a serial number. Click on whatever your hard drive is named. In screenshot 3 you can see that I have clicked on the drive "Aquaman" and also clicked the First Aid tab.

Thanks. Enjoyed writing for them though it was sometimes difficult to think up ideas that were doable. Hated to see that go away but the editorial team figured it was time.

Much like coming here I didn't realize how much Mac info I didn't know till I started hanging out with those guys.
