OK, so I know that by hitting the "arrow" button at bottom left the display will centre on my current location and display it with a tiny blue dot.

But as soon as I swipe or zoom, that dot disappears and I can no longer see my location. Is there any way of making it remain visible, or to show my location moving as I walk (as it does in Google Maps)?

Reason I ask is that I've saved a few locations/routes to My Places which are visible in Google Earth but not in Google Maps, so I want to follow these routes in Google Earth.

Alternatively, if there's a way to display My Places in Google Maps, that would also solve the issue.

Thanks in advance for help.

No ideas, anybody?
I haven't yet found any answers through web searches, but I figured someone might have worked it out through using the app.
