Hi,

Attached are before and after examples of how I'd like to edit a document using Word (or any other program for that matter).

My local library history (hardcopy books and DVDs, not folders and files) contains 1074 entries. Each entry is different. One entry looks like this:

Record 3 of 1074
AUTHOR Leon, Burke, 1938-
TITLE The insider's guide to buying a new or used car / by Burke Leon
and Stephanie Leon.
IMPRINT Cincinnati, OH : Betterway Books, 2000.
CALL # 629.222 Leon.

Another looks like this:

Record 1073 of 1074
TITLE A Christmas tale [videorecording] = Un conte de noeÃàl / IFC Films
; Why Not Productions ; producer, Pascal Caucheteux ;
screenplay by Arnaud Desplechin and Emmanuel Bourdieu ;
directed by Arnaud Desplechin.
IMPRINT [Irvington, NY] : Criterion Collection, [2009]
CALL # DVD FOREIGN CHRISTMAS.

What I want to know is if I can isolate all the DVD titles out of my history, each one to look like this:

A Christmas tale [videorecording]

The final list doesn't even have to have [videorecording] after the title.

I'm reminded of Word's "Replace:""Replace With:" function. But there's so much differing text in my document that I don't see how "Replace" is the solution, unless Wildcards, which I'm not familiar with, might hold the answer.

Is what I want to accomplish too far-fetched for even the Mighty Word?

Any help you can give on my project will be greatly appreciated.

Rafael
