Can you connect a blu ray player directly to you're Ipad and watch a disc that way? And I mean without a computer as well. I ask because soon I may not have a TV.

I could be wrong but I don't think there is a way to do that without a computer being involved in some way. There are a few hard drives/storage devices that are reported to work with jailbroken iPads but no DVD players AFAIK.

The Teradek Cube is a professional-grade device that will accomplish what you need. I believe it's the '255' model you'd want. The corresponding iOS app is a free download and works with the device to display your HDMI feed wirelessly to your iPad: http://www.teradek.com/pages/cube

But... hehe... at those prices, you're better off buying a new TV! :)
