Is there a simple way to have my MacBook Pro, when connected to an external VGA projector, to just display the computer's screen directly? All I want is to have my computer screen and the external display show exactly the same thing.

As far as I can tell, this simple option is just not there. Also, the arrangement tab in my Mountain Lion is nonexistent.

Help! I don't want all the fancy features. I just want a simple mirror (echo) display.

P.S. All I need is to have the screens be identical for Power Points. The VGA does show the images accurately.

Go to:

- Apple Menu
- System Preferences
- Displays

Then check the box that says "Mirror Display" (or something like that).

- Nick

p.s. By the way...that VGA monitor is probably super ancient...and it may not be capable of mirroring your MacBook Pro's display...since the MacBook Pro's display may be a much larger resolution than the external VGA monitor can handle.

In the past the Arrangement tab only appears if an external monitor is connected. I think that is still true.
