ok so I messed up when I tried to put Trash in my Finder sidebar. Now I can't empty my trash can anymore. How do I undo or reset this crap? It isn't in my sidebar anymore.

So, if I'm understanding correctly, you turned all of the invisible files to visible, dragged the .Trash folder to your sidebar, then relaunched Finder?

If so, which .Trash did you put in there? There's one in your home folder, one on your main HD, one in pretty much every folder.

If you're wanting to get your trash into your sidebar, try an app like SideTrash. It's free.
