I recently purchased a new battery for my MacBook Pro 15". The model number is A1150.

I bought the battery at an authorized Mac dealer store and the person gave me a battery that is A1175.

Is this compatible? The battery is working and charging, but it seems to be draining quick quickly. Last evening, I lost 25% battery life within about 15 minutes. I did some basic internet browsing, maybe ran video for about 5-10 mins.

Just wondering if there's a compatibility issue b/w my MacBook Pro and this battery.

Thanks.

A1175 is the battery part number for the MBP A1150.

It's possible the battery has been sitting around for awhile.
Could try calibrating it. Run it on battery until it shuts down on it's own.
Then leave it off power for another 6 hrs or so afterward (or overnight).
Then fully charge it.

Also grab "Coconut battery" to check the battery health.
You can post a screen shot here if you'd like.

I was just about to start a new thread with a similar title, due a similar issue! A good friend of mine has a 13" MacBook 5,1 Core 2 Duo from 2008. The battery is getting a little flaky and apparently Apple Germany are unable to assist. I'm in Australia for the minute so unable to tackle this directly myself. Can anyone recommend a European source of an appropriate battery please? Advice on what battery is necessary would be appreciated.

TIA

I like the NewerTech from OWC - pretty sure they'll ship anywhere - have used them to replace in our '06 and '07 Macs - not cheap, but less than Apple's and they're made in batches as they need them, so you don't have to worry about the thing having been sitting on a shelf somewhere for a couple of years.
