OK, this may seem odd. Why am I looking for a OLDER Mac? Reason being is that I use a Roland STIKA SX15 plotter which only runs on OS9 platform, BUT... I'm using Illustrator 10 on OSX.

I have an older G4 Sawtooth, but it's been giving me fits. Not matter what I upgrade (new processor, max the ram, double hard drives, CD/DVD burner).

The latest OSX software it can handle is OSX 10.4.11. I tried 10.5 and it killed the drive.

So I'm possibly looking for a Mac Pro if it can handle OS9. I wanted a MacBook Pro, but I believe OS9 is out of the question, and I can't afford a Roland GX-24 plotter. Those run $1,700.00 which is way out of my budget.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

You need to use two computers...an older one for OS 9...and a newer one for whatever you need a newer computer to do.:)

As a rule of thumb nothing manufactured after 2005 will run OS 9, from G5's onwards.
