I have a 2009 macbook pro unibody and the harddrive just failed on me so I am going to replace it but I don't know which other type of harddrive I can replace it with. the serial number of my macbook pro is W89323A6642. Since my old one failed I'm going to buy a new one with a few tbs but I just need to know what harddrive to look for.

Any quality made SATA 2.5" x 9.5 MM drive can be used. Check with the Amazon.com web site or Other World Computing.

Yes, that drive will work since the physical specs are 2.5" x 9.5 MM. Also, Amazon has a very good return policy.

The Toshiba drive is too thick. Notice that it's 12.5 MM..... that will cause overheating in the hard drive cavity and possible premature failure. Go with the 9.5 MM drives. The Hybrid drives are OK to use.
