Hey guys,

Got a MBP i7 (mid-2012), 4GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 512MB of GDDR5 memory. Now I've had this laptop since the start of this year and decided to install Windows 7 on it for gaming. Played a few online games (installed and then uninstalled them when I got bored with it/ran out of memory) and even played a phase 3 beta with no problem what so ever. That is until this Friday (16/8) when I tried playing a phase 4 beta game with a shiny new external keyboard so I can go prnt scn crazy (it's a microsoft comfort curve 3000). Got through character creation, opening cut scenes with no problem but after that the BSOD started happening.

The error it gave me was a System Service Error; STOP: 0X0000003B (0x00000000C0000005, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF8800B7A80F0, 0X0000000000000000).

I've googled and updated my vid driver (direct from the website) plus done a whole host of "Update driver software" on the Device Manager. Didn't solve it at all. I've even tried playing the beta using only my MBP's built-in keyboard and trackpad but it still crashes :/ (The length till the BSOD appears during game play varies)

Funny thing is, I tried playing 'The Witcher 2' (with both mouse and keyboard attached; I've used the mouse since I've installed Windows 7 and have played games using it and there wasn't any problems) and it played well with no crashes.

Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. I'm just praying I don't have to reinstall Wins7 :'(

Cheers

You're playing a beta - of what you haven't told us - nor where you got the download from - I suggest you report it to the developers along with providing them the version of Windows, CPU, GPU, etc. There are still problems they're aware of &/or trying to fix, 'tis why it's still in beta.

Have you tried the official Square Enix forums? If, as I suspect, you are playing FF14 the 650m may not be up to the task. My 670 sli just barely gives playable framerates on ultra settings, 1080p. What method did you use to uninstall previous drivers before updating? Also, the first stop code ending in 3b may be RAM related. I'd recommend running MemTest and see if any errors show up.
