Speed up Safari Browsing

I finally found out how to speed up Safari in Mountain Lion. Apparently, Safari prefetches the links before displaying the page. I used namebench utility from Google: https://code.google.com/p/namebench/. It searched and tested over 4,000 DNS addresses. The results is a report with the addresses of the top 3 DNS addresses you should use. Just open Network Preferences/Advanced and add (+) the three addresses in the same order.

That will work for any browser, not just Safari. In fact, Chrome and Firefox also prefetch content.

ya im getting 150% faster its insane! i have 75/25 fios and i was getting around 75 but since i switched dns i have seen downloads hit 90mbs crazy! im not sure how or why but im ok with it

A DNS switch won't affect download speeds. DNS servers only translate the name of a URL to a public IP for that server (since the Internet "speaks" in IP addresses, not domain names). So, it will only speed up the process of finding a webpage.
