Auto Centering Photos in Pages

Please advise:

Dragging custom cropped images from iPhoto to a Pages Document to compose a particular layout.........Pages will show Blue centerline, horizontal or vertical, to assist with alignment with adjacent images.

Thats great..........except when I want to adjust the image placement a fraction away from the centerline to some specific intermediate location........not possible to place image as some auto formatting tool is predetermining the next increment.

In simpler language......just can't nudge the image a little bit over as it gets bumped to some next position.

Would appreciate any guidance.

I'm using Pages 08, and can position an image anywhere. Check the Wrap tab in the Inspector and make sure that the Floating option is ticked.
