So.
I recently spilled about a cup of water on my macbook air, it was on sleep mode. I think I may have shorted it somehow, although I did not try to turn it back on. It has been about a week and the computer wont boot up, wont charge. Is there any hope????? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Alas liquid + electronics = death all too often and I think that is what has happened to your Air. Any chance covered by household insurance as Apple will not repair under warranty.

That's a good point Harry. Most PC notebook manufacturers sell an extended coverage warranty that includes accidental damage like drops, spills, run over with your car, etc. I would like to see Apple provide the same coverage; of course realizing that it would cost more. They already have that for iPads and iPhones (less a $49 deductible.)

Sorry to say...I think that you know the answer!

If you REALLY REALLY want to give yourself the best chance of getting this computer working (even though it may already be too late). You need to open it up...completely dry it out...put it back together...then fire it up.

Like I said...it may already be too late. But if there is currently any remaining water in it...you certainly don't want to start it up NOW...BEFORE opening it up & verifying if there's still any water in it.
