Have a power book G4 with a PPC processor. Can I update 10.4.1 to 10.4.9 ? If so any advantage to doing this?

Sure you can update to 10.4.9...and it should be a free update.

Is there an advantage? Well...will the update:

- allow you to do something you can't do now?
- have new features you don't have now?
- allow you to have compatibility with hardware or software you don't have compatibility with now?
- fix any issues you currently have?

If any of this applies...then yes the update is probably something to do. If you're not currently experiencing any problems...then you may not need the update.

The bottom line is...you're working with an old computer with old OS versions...and eventually you will run into compatibility problems. Eventually things are no longer supported.

And OS X.4.11 will be even better updating all those Security Updates Apple issued. As Nick says will not improve the old G4 alas. The Combo Updater is the way to go:-
