I've just bought a Power Mac G5 loaded with OS X 10.5. However it has no mouse or keyboard. When I've looked for a keyboard with a number pad I find that they are OS specific (ie 10.6 or later). What am I looking for in terms of a keyboard suitable for this model and os? Many thanks for your help.

You might be better off getting a 3rd party Apple keyboard, or trying to find a used Apple Keyboard. If either of those aren't options, you can use a Windows keyboard, and the Win key will be the Command key.

Look for an older Apple Aluminum keyboard as they will work with OS X before 10.6.8. I have one of those keyboards along with a newer one. Or you can do what Stretch suggested. The iHome white aluminum keyboard will work and only sells for $29.95 at Amazon. Check the specs first to be sure.

I'm using a G5 era A1016 Bluetooth keyboard with my 2012 Mac Mini... I was using an A1048 before it. Nice keyboards and rather inexpensive to find on Craigslist or ebay.
