Hi everyone,
Having some teething problems with my Apple TV (2nd Gen) using home sharing from the PC hosting the iTunes library.
Its been sitting unused for quite sometime, however, it has now been fully updated to the latest firmware (v5.3) and the iTunes on the PC is (v11.0.4.4) also the latest.
The PC is running Win 8 Pro, connected to the wireless router via Wi-Fi as is the Apple TV. Home sharing is enabled on both devices and does appear to work. Both devices have full signal also.
The problem occurs after for example a few songs, the first 3 or 4 will play fine and then it will just sit and buffer the next one and never load. The only way to fix this is to restart iTunes on the PC which isn't practical.
I've re-installed iTunes, reset the Apple TV, restarted the router and still the same!?
Streaming cloud purchases and movie trailers etc. works flawlessly, it's just when trying to connect to the PC library where it trips up however, this is the most accessed location.
If you could please shed any light on this it would be much, much appreciated!
Thanks,
Martin
EDIT: Just to add, I can switch iTunes to play the music to the Apple TV which always seems to work which makes the connection issue even more confusing!!
