how long should it take for mountian loin to download. i'm on 2.5 hours now

There are numerous variables that can change how long it will take. Your internet speed, connection to the server, etc.

No, you'll be able to redownload it later. Anything purchased from the App Store can be redownloaded whenever you want.

To start again go into the App Store, hold down the Option key and hit Purchases. Click on Mountain Lion to start the download again f.o.c. Any problems noticy Apple.
