Moving programs to another MAC

Hi All.
Just curious. If sometime in the far future I were to upgrade my MAC, do I have to call and get new installation keys for my software applications or is there a clean sweep easy way to transfer all applications to the new computer?
I currently have a G4 iBook running OSX 10.3.3 and if I were to upgrade it would be to a G5 presumably running Tiger.

You could install the software with the original keys on the new machine, but you need to remove the application from the older computer
