I'm trying to figure how I can get back on my mac. When I turn it on the apple screen comes up sits for a couple of minutes and then restarts on its own and keeps doing that. I know boot camp works fine thats how i'm on here now with XP. Any help would be wonderful. The machine is a Macbook Pro 15", with 10.5.8. I bought it mid 2009.

Thanks

I tried to safe boot, it won't go into it. I have tried disk repair and verify with the dvd and it works. i do get an error with verify and repair permissions with disk utility.

You can safely ignore permission repair "errors."

I suggest you reinstall OS X using the option "Archive & Install." This will keep your files and apps (except those apps that install something in system folders - there are very few of these).
